“Working in international institutions". 

A panorama of the different possibilities after the masters studies

What are the opportunities that exists in the international institutions ? What should you know before applying ? The presentation will provide some insights to understand what are the type of jobs, skills and sector that these institutions are searching for. It will also provide a description of how ‘projets’ works and what are the type of jobs associated from their design, implementation and evaluation. Finally some of the work undertaken recently will be presented such as the effect of Guatemala migration of men to the US on women left alone in rural areas and the rural poverty assessment in Haiti.  

Barbara Coello is a senior rural economist who has been working for international institutions, primarily in Latin America and particularly in Haiti since the 2010 earthquake. The focus of her work has been to mainstream traversal issues such as gender, nutrition and more generally food security in the design, execution and impact evaluation of agricultural projects. She holds a PhD in Development Economics from the Paris School of Economics-  Paris 1- INRA, a MBA in finance from the TEC de Monterrey and a BA in econometrics from the Toulouse School of Economics.
