Jorge Mario Sánchez Egozcue is a Senior Researcher and Professor at the University of Havana’s Center of Studies of the International Economy (CIEI), 2010-14 Centro de Estudios de la Economía Cubana (CEEC), 1990-2010 Center for Hemispheric and U.S. Studies (CEHSEU). His research focuses on foreign policy and economic development. 2009-2013 Co-president of the Cuba Section at LASA – Latin American Studies Association, in the U.S. He has also served as a consultant for the United Nations Development Program UNDP (2011, 2014) and for the Canadian Agency for Cooperation ACDI (1999-2010), and has published in various journals and edited collections.Visiting professor as well as lecturer  at several universities in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Latin America, some of these include:2013-Tinker Visiting professor, The Theresa Lozano Long Institute of Latin American Studies-LLILAS-, University of Austin, Texas. 2011-Visiting Research Fellow,  ILAS- SIPA Columbia University, New York. 2010-Visiting Scholar for a third time at The David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies DRCLAS, Harvard University. 2009-Visiting Professor, IHEAL, Sorbonne Nouvelle 3 and and at SciencesPo.
